(Meredith) - Three Alabama men invited an elderly woman to eat dinner with them after noticing she was dining alone at a restaurant.

Jamario Howard posted the heartwarming story to Facebook Thursday. He and two friends were eating at Brad's Bar-B-Que in Oxford when they saw the woman sitting by herself.

"My exact thoughts were, 'Dang, I’d hate to have to eat alone,'" Howard said.

He decided to approach the woman and asked to sit with her so they could chat. After a few minutes of talking, Howard learned the woman was a widow.

"She told me she lost her husband and that tomorrow would have been their 60th anniversary," Howard wrote. "I instantly gave my condolences and asked her to come eat with us."

The woman, identified by FOX46 as Eleanor, was excited to join the men for dinner.

They talked, laughed and took a photo after finishing their meal. That photo has been shared more than 32,000 times on Facebook.

Howard said he hopes that by sharing this experience, it encourages people to "be kind" to others "because you never know what they are going through."

"This woman changed my outlook on life and how I look at other people," he continued. "Everyone has a story, so do not judge... I can’t stress this enough."
